Westborough has the good fortune of being strategically located at the crossroads of major transportation networks, but maintains a good balance between fast-paced urban life and suburban residential areas. The community is known as a good place to live, with high levels of community participation, good municipal services including excellent schools and a pride in its history (which includes Eli Whitney and Admiral Denfeld).
The community has attracted high technology manufacturing and corporate headquarters as well as a wide mix of other commercial enterprises. The positive community climate continues to encourage business growth on the one hand, while also encouraging pleasant open areas spacing attractive residential developments.
Geography
East central Massachusetts, bordered by Northborough on the north, Southborough and Hopkinton on the east, Upton on the south, and Grafton and Shrewsbury on the west. Westborough is about 12 miles east of Worcester, 29 miles west of Boston, and 185 miles from New York City.

Transportation and Access
Located in the Worcester region which has three major cross-state highways: the Worcester Turnpike (Route 9), Route 20, and the Massachusetts Turnpike. I-495 borders to the east, I-190 links to the Fitchburg-Leominster area, I-84 and I-395 connect to Connecticut and points south. The region is well connected by rail and highway to the ports, airports, and intermodal facilities of Boston and Providence.
Major Highways
Principal highways are the Worcester Turnpike (State Route 9), State Routes 30 and 135, the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90), and Interstate 495. I-495, the outer loop around Boston, has interchanges with both Route 9 and with I-90 in Westborough.

Bus
Westborough is a member of the Worcester Regional Transit Authority (WRTA), which provides paratransit services for the elderly and disabled. Peter Pan Bus Lines provides local service from Westborough between Worcester and Boston every 2 hours.
